PERSEF2 First Entry: Seek and Kill

Last June 2, we discussed about the different factors that affect our stress level. We had this activity called the "STRESS INVENTORY" where we rated each stressor from 0-5, with 5 being extreme.. Surprisingly, I got 89/360. I don't feel that way.. but I think it's because I took "extreme" as REALLY EXTREME.. like to the point where you think that suicide is the only way to get out of it, which is a thought that I never entertained up to now.

With regards to what stressing me recently.. here is a list of what they are & my plan of actions...

STRESSORS
  1. Studies - it's a problem with all students. no student is an exemption.
  2. Responsibilities - I am the eldest among my siblings. So I am expected to fulfill all my responsibilities as the eldest. Not only that, I am an AVP of an organization (SPRINT), a member of our church choir and have recently joined another organization (FORMDEV), which, I know, will contribute a LOT to my stress level as I try to fulfill my responsibilities.
  3. Peers -sometimes, even the people you have fun with most of the time, they also contribute to your stress because you want to be accepted by them. So you try whatever you can so you can fit in.

PLAN OF ACTION

Studies
  • Commitment - Always alot time for my studies.
  • Control - Avoid any kind of distraction that will hinder me from studying
  • Challenge - Be a Dean's Lister this term
Responsibilities
  • Commitment - Be able to fulfill as much responsibilities I can.
  • Control - Avoid thinking negatively that usually hinder me from fulfilling my duties.
  • Challenge - Be able to retain my position in the different organizations I am currently in.
Peers
  • Commitment - Choose friends who are worth spending my time with.
  • Control - Know when to spend time with my friends or when it's time for other responisiblities.
  • Challenge - Be able to retain good relationship with my peers without endangering my other responsibilities.
